PT-CAN RUNS SECOND ANNUAL CLOTHING DRIVE, PARTNERS WITH PROJECT RENEWAL: GEFFNER HOUSE

Posted by vanessa on January 22, 2018

On Saturday January 20th, PT-CAN members Kyle Zreibe (CUDPT 2019) and Julia Cocchi (CUDPT 2020) delivered more than seven suitcases filled with clothes, coats and blankets to the NYC-based organization “Project Renewal: Geffner House”, where they will aid individuals who are currently homeless. This is PT-CAN’s second year conducting a winter clothing drive and organizers Kyle and Julia would like to thank everyone who contributed to its success.

“We particularly want to thank the CUMC Bookstore for allowing us to use their location as a drop-off spot for clothing items,” Kyle said. “I think what’s important about this drive is recognizing that we have a responsibility to our community and should be constantly advocating for marginalized groups, ensuring that they can have access to resources (such as clothing) that we often take for granted. “

PT-CAN (Columbia University Program in Physical Therapy Community Action Network) is an organization for service within the PT program. Through PT-CAN, students can volunteer, join committees, advocate for the profession, and create new outreach opportunities.
